Expensive but good quality
I bought this cutter about 10 months ago and smoke cigars socially about once per week. I had gotten tired of the cheap $2 guillotine cutters I was using. Overall, I was hesitant to spend such a large amount but really enjoy the Xikar products (also have a 2 flame lighter with a punch on the bottom).
This product has a high-quality look and cuts well. Maybe could use a little sharpening now but it is certainly better than a cheap plastic cutter in the store. I am impressed by its strength. Other cheap cutters feel like they might snap on your hand as they start yo get a little older. This cutter does not. I like the butterfly operation where blades are on both sides. Even if you do not want to buy this product, at least get a guillotine with two blades…single blades are frustrating and can ruin a good cigar when they get dull.
Two final comments. First, get the free leather sheath from Xikar (seems to take forever to arrive once you register online but…
Great cutter
I have purchased several cutters, and this one is hands down my favorite. Cuts very well and never crushes the cigar and you have to love the life time no questions asked warranty.
