It’s for the baker
My husband had a ceramic bowl that he used to rise his homemade breads in that went the way of shattering on the floor after a slip of the hand. I searched and searched for something compatible and when it came down to the wire at Christmas, I purchased this. We have not been disappointed! It works great in a warm oven and with kneading and rising breads and it works well for mixing large batches of baked goods. It’s sturdy and attractive. It cleans well, is dishwasher safe and seems for the most part scratch resistant. It’s also gone into the microwave.
Excellent, High Quality and Useful
Ever since my last mixing bowl broke (a plastic/fiberglass type that had seen a thousand and one uses) I started looking for a high quality replacement bowl. Now to be honest I don’t use the Emile Henry Mixing Bowl to actually ‘mix’ anything. I use it to make oatmeal for my family in the morning. Essentially I stick it in the microwave for about twenty minutes every day and it gets the job done. It’s a sturdy bowl, really high quality. It doesn’t stain, despite the thick rings of oatmeal (of various flavours and colours) that gets attached at it’s lip and it’s easy to carry around (so long as you use oven mitts to not burn your hands!).
It goes in the dishwasher daily as well and as I said, sees plenty of use. I’ve had mine for a few months now and it looks just as good and works just as well as when I first got it out of the box. I’m actually considering getting a second one. Great bowl, it’s a definite keeper. You’ll be happy you bought it.
Nice looking bowl, but rough outside bottom
It is a nice looking bowl. But it has a rough outside bottom. You can do a lot of things as advertised. But, be careful not to scratch good looking surface of your counter/table.
