Cuisinart CTG-00-SMB Stainless Steel Mixing Bowls with Lids, Set of 3

Disappointed…

After reading the stellar reviews, I purchased this set of bowls. They were lovely and with the lids, added functionality for storage. However, after one month of use, I noticed small specks of rust (?) in the largest bowl. I even hand washed all my bowls, rather than placing them in dishwasher, too. I’m disappointed because I expected more from the Cuisinart brand; and my window to return expired just days ago.

Super bowls!

How much can you say about mixing bowls? Hopefully enough to convince you, dear reader, to buy them. This particular set is nicely vertical, which is very helpful for mixing with a single beater (more shallow bowls allow tossed material to coat your kitchen. This is widely considered an undesirable thing.), and is made of a high quality stainless which will survive your freezer, your dishwasher and even your range when used as the top part of a double boiler. The tops are plastic; they fit well now and are a nice addition to the set; I can’t vouch for how long they’ll last of course. The stainless is of the sort that picks up smudges pretty easily so I don’t think in most times these will double as serving containers at any but the most informal of events, but other than that they are quite easy to clean. That ease is enhanced by the design, which is free of doodads that one one will ever use but behind which batter likes to hide. You did the same search I did, you know what…

Not bad but not good

Works good but the shape is not as useful as the American Kitchen line . Also they are made in china . The lids are nice for storing . I use these for storing foods and the American Kitchen bowl for mixing being the cuisinart bowls are to tall and too narrow for mixing. One thing I don’t like is cuisinart doesn’t list the kind of stainless this is. I looked on the box and paper it came with and on the bowls them self . If it’s 18/0 its going to rust on me so I hope it’s not. The American Kitchen bowls say 18/10 right on them so I know they’ll last.

Oh yeah don’t pay close to $40 for these it’s not worth it . I’m keeping mine because I got them for $31. Also look at the American kitchen line you’ll be happier with thouse unless you must have a lid.
